How do I choose Ormiston Hospital?
Where you choose to have surgery is completely up to you – whether it be elective or prescribed. You can cover medical costs yourself. Ormiston Hospital works in partnership with Southern Cross health, ACC, and local Health Boards.
If you are having a referral from a GP let your GP know you would prefer to see one of our specialists. We offer a comprehensive list of specialties available.
Non-urgent surgery (elective)
Contact the team at Ormiston directly and we can recommend a specialist for your requirement and help connect you to the right specialist for appointment. You may also wish to contact Ormiston Specialist Centre for a specialist working out of this Centre, located on the ground floor of our hospital.
Prescribed surgery
You have been informed you need surgery, you will be recommended or referred to a Specialist who can help you. At this point you can discuss your preference to have your procedure at Ormiston Hospital and select from one of our Specialists. It is important that you take control of your journey to recovery as you can make the right decisions for your well-being.
Your GP will be able to make a recommendation for referral or discover yourself via our list of Specialists operating at Ormiston Hospital.
