Ormiston Careers

Our people are the heart of our hospital and our greatest asset.

It’s because of this that we always strive to make Ormiston Hospital a great place to work.

There are two key pillars when it comes to our people:

  • Ensuring our people feel valued and recognised for their commitment to our patients and the wider organisation. This not only means our people are happy and our patients have a great experience with us, but it also means that we retain talented individuals.
  • Creating a collaborative and safe environment for our colleague to thrive, with mental and physical wellbeing support at the centre.

We consistently receive feedback from patients and specialists alike on how engaged and positive the Ormiston Hospital team are. Offering and growing our supportive work environment is key to that, as well as recognising and rewarding our team.

Our team benefits and recognition programme

We have a great benefits and recognition programme for colleagues that work at Ormiston Hospital – and it’s constantly evolving! Here’s a sneak peek of what we can offer you when you join our team.

What else is important to know about life at Ormiston Hospital?

Covid has taught us a great deal around stress and anxiety, but also resilience. It’s extremely important to recognise that everyone deals with stress and anxiety differently and it was with this in mind that we decided to partner up with Chnnl.

Chnnel is a mobile app that helps our team members reflect on their mental health and wellbeing. The app provides a completely anonymous safe space for our team to reflect on how they are feeling, early intervention support and gives our management team a high level anonymised view of the overall wellbeing of our organisation. Chnnel also offers our colleagues a direct line to EAP services and support.

We also put the physical and mental health of our team first by offering an extensive annual wellbeing calendar. A key topic or activity is selected every month based on the ‘5 Ways of Wellbeing’ – Connect, Be Active, Give, Take Notice and Keep Learning. Activities and events can range from quiz night, a Pink Ribbon Breakfast or an inspirational or educational talk on a burning topic, to cultural shared lunches and gumboot throwing for Gumboot Friday.

We also proudly offer:

  • Free flu vaccinations
  • Fully funded health insurance
  • Long service recognition
  • An industry-leading menopause policy
  • Appreciation day (an additional annual leave day)

We love to celebrate success

Each and every quarter, we encourage our colleagues to nominate a teammate who lives and breathes our values. Four individuals (one for each values) win both a prize and glory, as well as an entry into our annual Superstar Value Award where the winner takes home $500 and a day in lieu!
