Arvind Gupta is a consultant ophthalmologist at Greenlane Clinical Centre and Counties Manukau Health, and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Auckland. He completed his ophthalmology training in Pondicherry, India, before undertaking advanced specialist training – including sub-specialty fellowships in neuro-ophthalmology and medical retina – at the Singapore National Eye Centre. He migrated to New Zealand in 2018.
Arvind has published extensively, with 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals, and is an active member of the RANZCO Specialist International Medical Graduates committee, supporting overseas-trained ophthalmologists moving to Australia and New Zealand.
Areas of Specialisation:
- Cataract surgery, including multifocal intraocular lens and toric intraocular lens.
- Medical retina including, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy and macular edema, retinal vein occulsion, and other retinal conditions.
- Neuro-ophthalmology including, ocular motor nerve palsy, optic disc edema, idiopathic intracranial hypertension.
