Increased influenza risk in Auckland

Influenza a outbreak in NZ

Increased influenza risk – please help us protect our patients

Influenza cases are increasing across New Zealand. To help protect our patients, visitors and healthcare teams, we are asking everyone visiting Ormiston Hospital to take extra precautions.

Please do not visit if you are unwell

If you have cold, flu or other respiratory symptoms, or have tested positive for influenza, COVID-19 or RSV, please stay home and postpone your visit until you are feeling better and your symptoms have resolved.

If you are due to have a procedure at Ormiston and become unwell beforehand, please contact your specialist or healthcare team for advice.

We strongly recommend wearing a mask

We strongly recommend that all visitors wear a medical mask while at Ormiston Hospital during this period of increased respiratory illness. Masks are available at our reception areas.

Wearing a mask provides an additional layer of protection for you and those around you, particularly patients who may be more vulnerable to becoming seriously unwell.

Keep your hands clean

Please use the hand sanitiser provided at the entrances to level two ward and level three reception, and each time you re-enter these areas. Good hand hygiene is one of the simplest ways we can help reduce the spread of infection.

Thank you for helping us protect our patients, whānau, visitors and Ormiston team.
