Otolaryngologist Dr Joseph Earles’ specialises in neck lumps, head and neck cancers and sinus and nasal disorders. Training included a year-long fellowship at the prestigious Yale University, the first from the southern hemisphere to do so. On completion he was appointed as a full-time faculty member and surgeon at the university.
After his fellowship, Joe became a full-time faculty member and surgeon at Yale. He later returned to New Zealand, where he now works both at AHNA and Auckland City Hospital, treating some of New Zealand’s most complex cancer cases.
Joe is actively involved in teaching future surgeons as a trainee supervisor and medical research as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Auckland. He has presented and been an invited speaker at national and international conferences and courses.
In addition to head and neck surgery, Joe is skilled in treating various ENT conditions, especially sinusitis and nasal obstruction, as well as facial plastic reconstruction. He uses the latest evidence and techniques to deliver the best possible results for his patients.
