This month, we celebrate two very special milestones at Ormiston Hospital – the first birthday of our Endoscopy Suite and Mānuka Ward. Both spaces have become an important part of our hospital, delivering outstanding care and comfort to patients while supporting our dedicated teams to do their best work.
Endoscopy Suite – One Year On
Since opening, the Endoscopy Suite has welcomed thousands of patients, providing timely access to essential procedures such as colonoscopies and gastroscopies. In just 12 months, our team has carried out over 5,000 procedures, a milestone that reflects the hard work, efficiency and dedication of the staff who make the suite such a success.
The suite has been praised for its modern facilities, streamlined processes, and the compassionate care of our specialist team. To mark the occasion, the Endoscopy team gathered for a birthday lunch, complete with cake and a fun quiz to reflect on what’s been achieved over the past 12 months. Staff highlighted how far they’ve come in building a strong, supportive culture and how proud they are to deliver such a high standard of care.
Mānuka Ward – One Year of Care
Our Mānuka Ward also celebrated its first birthday this month. Since opening its doors, the ward has supported thousands of patients in their recovery, providing a calm, welcoming environment that reflects Ormiston’s commitment to patient wellbeing.
Staff, specialists, and patients alike have commented on the ward’s modern design and thoughtful touches – from private rooms with ensuite bathrooms to the warm and attentive care of the nursing team. To celebrate, the team enjoyed a shared morning tea together, taking time to reflect on the positive impact Mānuka Ward has had in its first year.
