When preparing for your arrival there are a few important aspects to remember. Everyone will have different needs specific to them, depending on the type of treatment they are going to receive. You will be given information regarding any specific requirements prior to your surgery date by your consultant. The day before surgery you will be contacted by a member of our Nursing team to confirm your admission time, discuss your general health, fasting status and any specific requirements we will need to take into consideration through out your stay with us at Ormiston Hospital.  If you should fall ill with a sore throat, cough, cold or any other illness please let our team know as this may require us to change your scheduled admission date to one when you are well.

If you require an overnight stay on our ward here is a list of items that you may wish to bring with you to make your stay even more comfortable:

• A small bag of clothes and belongings
• Toiletries (hairbrush, toothbrush, tooth paste etc)
• Slippers or comfortable footware
• Any medication that you are currently taking
• Books or magazines to keep you entertained during your recovery time
• Ipod or MP3 music player. Please note that all of our inpatient rooms have Sky TV, including sports and movie channels, and high speed internet access

We ask that you not bring along any valuables, jewellery or large amounts of cash along as there are no facilities for safe keeping. 

 

Whether you are staying with us overnight or going home the same day we ask that you bring with you your private insurance pre-approval letter (if applicable), any  documentation or x-rays requested by your consultant and any other relevant paperwork.
