Continuing Education & Research: Dr McAllum has published 20 papers in peer reviewed journals, a textbook chapter and numerous other
articles. She has presented several award-winning posters and papers at international and local
conferences. She regularly attends meetings and subspecialty training courses to maintain and advance her
expertise and retains close links with international colleagues in several centres. She also works with
Volunteer Ophthalmology Services Overseas (VOSO) to provide eye care in Niue.
 Outside of Work: Dr McAllum is married with two young children. She likes to make the most of family time and often has
enthusiastic little helpers when she is baking or gardening. She has travelled extensively and still
endeavours to venture to exotic destinations whenever possible. She enjoys good wine, particularly when
it is matched with good food and good friends.
